Saxophone & Piano
Magdalena Lapaj and Elmira Sayfullayeva not only perform their original works for the saxophone and the piano but they present novel arrangements of classical masterpieces as well. Their repertoire includes baroque music, romantic as well as modernist music. The young musicians impress their audience with perfect mastery over harmony, as well as their energetic interpretations, skillfully put together to fascinating concert programs.
The two multiple-prize-winning musicians have been playing together ever since their first meeting at the Cologne University of Music.
Concert programs:
"Impressions" with works of C. Debussy, M. Ravel, M. De Falla and others.
In the program we want to show not only the impressionistic but also folkloristic influences in the music of the 20th century.
"Mosaïque de miniatures" are small, lively original works and arrangements of the 19th and 20th centuries of C.Debussy, A.Thomys, P.M.Dubois and D.Bédard together to create an exciting, audible image.
"Autumn Impressions" the mood of the season in the foreground. You can hear original works as well as arrangements for saxophone and piano by G.P.Telemann, C. Debussy, S. Rachmaninoff, H. Wieniawski, A.Caplét.
